Why is WoCo important?

Visibility and representation matter

Positive representation shapes how marginalized groups are viewed by society and it can affect how groups see themselves. WoCo is the first organization of its kind at the LSE. Supported by the Department of International Development, the school seeks to recognize and support intersectional identities.

Services we offer

Joining WoCo means creating life-long connections and gaining a network of bright individuals who share similar experiences. Professional development resources include insights from experienced professionals across private and public industries, case study preparation, LinkedIn and CV workshops led by career consultants, and more. Meetings and workshops aim to showcase leaders, speakers, and professionals of color.

Founder

WoCo was founded at the LSE by student Mirabella Pulido. Recognizing a lack of support for women of color at the university, she initiated a new student-led group. With a background in management, social impact, and community organizing, she has grown the group to 50+ members since its launching in October 2020.
